WHY WIGHTAID?
Many island businesses make generous donations to local charities each year but with many companies also receiving requests for funding, the whole process can be very time consuming – so we set up WightAID. The foundation makes it easier for companies to support a whole range of local charities and community groups by making one donation and the foundation will distribute the funds efficiently and effectively to those that need our support.
We appreciate that some companies already have designated charities each year, that is how they operate and we are delighted that they are playing a role in our unique island community. What we are trying to do is to encourage businesses to put even more money in the pot for good causes, and to create an easy mechanism for other companies to join us.
We hope that other Isle of Wight business will join us in supporting our island community. We aim to distribute all the money we receive and keep our running costs to an absolute minimum.

OBJECTIVES
The primary purpose of WightAID is to provide funding to charities, groups and organisations that aim to improve the lives of people living on the Isle of Wight.
WightAID may support the following causes and organisations across the island that support:

The advancement of culture, traditions and heritage

The advancement of amateur sport for the young and people with disabilities.

The advancement of health or the saving of lives

The advancement of citizenship or community development

The advancement of environmental protection or improvement

The relief of those in need, by reason of youth, age, ill health, disability, financial hardship or other disadvantage

Any other charitable purpose
